For two Nursiscope researchers, that journey became an opportunity to contribute to conversations around the future of healthcare through digital health innovation.

Through mentorship, collaboration, and continuous learning, Peter Adebiyi and Anointing Julius have taken steps towards becoming part of this growing movement.

Peter Adebiyi: When a Research Idea Found the Right Support

Every meaningful research project begins with a problem worth solving. For Peter Adebiyi, that problem was understanding how technology could support individuals living with sickle cell disease.

His research, titled:

“Feasibility and Usability of an AI-Enabled Mobile Health Prototype for Self-Management Among Sickle Cell Patients: A Preliminary Pilot Study,”

explored how a mobile health solution could support patients in managing their condition and improve their healthcare experience.

However, bringing an idea to life requires more than passion. It requires guidance, refinement, and support.

Through Nursiscope mentorship, Peter received support in strengthening his abstract, reviewing his research work, and preparing for his conference presentation.

His dedication and the quality of his work were recognised when his presentation emerged as the Overall Best Oral Presentation among 130 accepted abstracts.

Anointing Julius: A Conversation That Became a Research Journey

Sometimes, a single conversation can open the door to a new direction.

For Anointing Julius, connecting with Dr Oluwadamilare Akingbade through LinkedIn marked the beginning of his research journey.

With a desire to understand how to get started in research, Anointing sought guidance and was welcomed into a community of passionate researchers through Nursiscope.

His research titled:

“AI-Driven Chatbots in Health Education & Patient Support: A Scoping Review of Usability and Effectiveness,”

explored how chatbot technology can support health education and patient engagement.

Beyond the research itself, the journey exposed him to collaborative learning, research processes, scientific writing, and conference preparation.

Through mentorship and consistent support, Anointing progressed from seeking direction to presenting his work on an international platform.
