For Oyindamola Eminiken and Ese Laureta Ekponbor, those opportunities became the foundation for research that speaks directly to the future of nursing.

Oyindamola Eminiken: Understanding What Nurses Need to Succeed in Research

Many nurses understand the importance of research, yet only a few have the opportunity or support to participate actively in it. That gap inspired Oyindamola Eminiken's research titled: "Assessment of Research Needs and Research Capacity of Nurses in Lagos State, Nigeria." Drawing data from 475 nurses across healthcare institutions in Lagos State, the study revealed an important reality. While the desire to engage in research is high, many nurses still need stronger research capacity and structured mentorship to fully contribute to evidence-based practice.

Her findings reinforce something Nursiscope strongly believes: when nurses receive the right support, they become better equipped to solve healthcare problems through research.

Ekponbor: Looking Beyond the Classroom

Some of the most valuable lessons in nursing are not always learnt in the classroom. Ese Laureta Ekponbor explored this idea in her research titled: "Beyond the Classroom: Enhancing Nursing Education Through Professional Experiences and Volunteer Opportunities." Inspired by her own experiences and conversations with fellow graduate nurses, her study examined how volunteering, professional exposure, and practical experiences help young nurses build confidence, gain career clarity, and prepare for opportunities beyond clinical practice.

Ese describes Nursiscope as more than a mentorship platform. Throughout her research journey, she received guidance in proofreading her work, refining her presentation, and preparing for her conference.

She shared that the encouragement she received gave her the confidence to present her work on an international platform as an early-career nurse.
